International Center "Servant of Yahweh" of Porto San Giorgio

A very important place for the Way is the International Center of the Neocatechumenal Way “Servant of Yahweh” in Porto San Giorgio, which was built in the 80s on the land of a farm donated by a married couple to Kiko and Carmen for evangelization.

From that farm on the hills overlooking the sea and not far from the Holy House of the Madonna of Loreto, Kiko has created a particular masterpiece of beauty and spirituality immersed in greenery that, if your group's pilgrimage includes passing through those parts, you cannot miss.

You will be accompanied by brothers who will immerse you in these places, in their fruitful history and in their wonderful topicality by giving you their testimony.

It is right here, inside the large room called the “Tent of the Meeting” that every year since then the initiators of the Neocatechumenal Way have called together Families, Itinerants, Priests and Seminarians from all over the world to train them and send them on mission to all the continents.

On December 30, 1988, a memorable visit! Saint John Paul II came in person to Porto San Giorgio to send 200 families on a mission throughout the world:

“Dearly beloved, I have come here very willingly. I have very willingly accepted your invitation on the feast of the Holy Family to pray together with you for the most fundamental and most important thing in the mission of the Church: for the spiritual renewal of the family, of human and Christian families in every people, in every nation, especially perhaps in our Western world, more advanced, more marked by the signs and benefits of progress but also by the shortcomings of this unilateral progress. If we must speak of a renewal, a regeneration of human society, indeed of the Church as a society of men, we must begin from this point, from this mission. Holy Church of God, you cannot do your mission, you cannot accomplish your mission in the world, if not through the family and its mission.
