Parish of St. Bartholomew in Tuto
If your group of pilgrims is proceeding towards Rome from the North, a place where you can make a visit included in your spiritual and artistic journey is certainly the Church of San Bartolomeo in Tuto in Scandicci (FI).
The Way in this Parish was born in 1970 thanks to the work of Kiko and Carmen and is present here with many Neocatechumenal communities that have been evangelizing throughout Tuscany since the beginning and are full of fruits of the Holy Spirit (itinerant throughout the world, Presbyters, married couples open to life with many children, etc.).
The church was built between 1974 and 1993 based on a design by Kiko Arguello, Anna Gennarini and Mattia Del Prete. It has an octagonal shape reminiscent of the baptistery of the Florence Cathedral.
The shape, with its stepped arrangement, encourages participation in the liturgy and symbolizes the assembly.
The "Mysterious Crown", a work created over fourteen years and whose style recalls Russian and Byzantine iconography, has been reproduced throughout the world, from Norway to Spain, to Shanghai and Bahrain, where even the Holy Father was able to admire it.
In short, an interesting stop on your pilgrimage.
The brothers are waiting to accompany you on your visit, share their experience and “tell you” about the Camino in Tuscany.
