Redemptoris Mater Seminar Rome

In 2023, the Redemptoris Mater Seminary in Rome, the first of those opened in the world, celebrated its first 35 years of life.

Born thanks to the inspiration of Kiko Argüello and Carmen Hernandez, it was welcomed and supported in its birth and initial development by Saint John Paul II, and accompanied with paternal solicitude by Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis, through the pastoral care of the various Cardinal Vicars of His Holiness for the Diocese of Rome.

A diocesan seminary that for over 35 years has trained missionary priests of the diocese of Rome for the new evangelization of Europe and the entire world.

It is a place of prayer and study but also a privileged place to be able to touch with your own hands the new aesthetics introduced by Kiko (the Chapel and the Sanctuary of the Word are magnificent) and to discover the marvelous work that the Lord has done in these years with the seminary, through the testimony of the seminarians and their educators.

“We never thought of forming seminaries or anything of this kind, and we are surprised by this divine action: the Lord surprised us by showing us that He did everything, He brought the Lord everything by doing so many miracles… (Kiko)”
